Ivan DE VISSCHER
Co-Founder and Managing Director
Ivan De Visscher holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineer and a Ph.D. thesis from Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). His research work during his Ph.D. focused on numerical simulation and operational modelling of aircraft wake vortex behaviour. He also co-developed the WAKE4D wake vortex simulation platform (and its submodels: Deterministic and Probabilistic wake Vortex Models - DVM and PVM). Before founding WaPT, he worked as a teaching assistant and research engineer at UCL and was involved in several research projects related to aircraft wake and wind energy.
Yves Marichal holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. thesis from Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). His thesis handles about the development of numerical techniques for the simulation of aerodynamical flows. More specifically, his work focused on the way to account for solid bodies in Vortex Particle-Mesh methods (such as the tool VPM4WIND). Before joining WaPT in March 2015, he was involved in wind energy-related projects at UCL and took part in the development of VPM4WIND.
Philippe Chatelain is Professor at Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). He works at WaPT as scientific adviser and part-time expert.
Grégoire Winckelmans is Professor at Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). He works at WaPT as scientific adviser and part-time expert.
